Hi
Does anyone know how the round cornered groupboxes shown 1 minute into this Infragistics video have been created?
I suppose it uses images overlaying the controls.
Prior to the styling being applied it looks like 2 groupboxes are being used per 'panel', one for the header and one for the body. After the styling is applied the 2 groupboxes look like they are being merged into one. An optical illusion I am sure but I am intrigued how this affect has been achieved.
Does anyone have any ideas how this has been done?
Thanks
Mike
Hi Mike,
I'm not sure, but my guess is that you are right and that there are two controls there and each is assign a BackgroundImage. The top control (for the header) might be an UltraGroupBox or an UltraPanel and the bottom one is probably one of those, as well. And the two controls are simply placed on a form with no space between them.
Of course, the tricky part here is that AppStylist applies the same appearance to all controls of the same type. So if those are both UltraPanels or both UltraGroupBoxes, then how is it that they have different background images. This is probably done using the StyleSetName property on the control so that some controls pull their appearance from a different StyleSet than others.
Hi,
I pinged Andrew Flick and he sent me the sample he used. So I'm attaching it here. I was right, it's using images.
Thanks a lot, Mike - mystery solved.
