I'm having a intermittent problem with the UltraCharts. I have a composite chart, made up of one chart area and layer, where I have a set of user controls that allow the user to setup the chart type and configure the rest of the data for the chart from an existing data table. I'm using Infragistics 9.2
The problem I'm having is sometimes when I hover my mouse over data points to get the tooltip, 70 % of the time the tooltip shows up perfectly. The other times, the tooltip box shows up, but its empty. However I can tell its generating the text, but not displaying it, because as I go from point to point, it resizes the box based on what should be displaying in the tooltip. I tried messed with the way the tooltip text is generated but I still have the same problem.

This is indeed strange, I'm not quite sure where to begin diagnosing this. You can try testing tooltips in a separate stand alone application, but i doubt you'll reproduce the problem. If it's a timing issue and the tooltip is being set before the data is being fed to the chart, you can try setting a static tooltip string just to see if it shows up all the time. You can also set the tooltip to display on mouse click instead of mouse move. The best for us would be a sample that can reproduce the problem, but if that's not possible, any additional information about the chart and how it's created and bound along with code snippets might help.
Another possible workaround is to use our TooltipManager or MS tooltip control instead of the chart's built-in tooltips. Maybe that will work better for you.
I'm not able to reproduce it consistently. But it happens pretty often. I figured out that its related to my multi monitor setup. When it happens on the affected monitor, if I move the window with that chart to my primary monitor, it goes away and all tooltip behavior is normal (text and hot tracking is fast and there). However when I drag the window back to the affected monitor, all tooltips are messed up, no text just empty rectangle box and painting for hot tracking is extremely slow.

Any help would be appreciated.
What build of 9.2 are you using? What side is your primary monitor located on? Would you be able to attach a sample project for testing?
I worked around this problem by doing my using my own tooltip control.
