Hi,
I have a silverlight project in which i have around 3K+ items loaded on a xamcomboeditor. It works perfectly when the item source is bound to an observablecollection. But if i set the selected item programatically, next time i try to drop down, it hands longer (may be 5 secs) before it shows the drop down. Also its hangs when i selected the item in the combo as well.what could be the cause? strange because the only difference is i am setting the selected item to an item in the itemsource programatically. could you please help to figure this out please. I am not sure if any exception is raised by xamcomboeditor, but nothing in the output window. I am using visual studio 2010 and net advantage 10.3. Is there eany service patched available for sl net advantage 10.3?
Thanks
Ajay
Hi Ajay,
I have tried to reproduce the issue on my side using the RTM build of 10.3(build 1006) but had no success. I am attaching the project I used.
Could you please provide more information about the issue you are experiencing. A sample project would be best.
There are few Service Release for 10.3 which you could find At "My IG" -> "My Keys and Download" . If you have any problesm accessing these patches please contact out Support team for further assistance.
Regards,
Thanks for the reply. I verified its working a champ once directly bound and set from code. My application uses prism 4 and the issue is when the xamcomboeditor is used in the view and bound to the view model. It works perfectly when the selected item is null initially, but if it is set to an item, it slows down many fold. Attached is a demo application with the issue reproduced. Kindly help me with the same.
this is a bug in the control what is causing the delay. Unfortuantely there is no workaround you could use until the bug is fixed.
I have create a support case(CAS-71403-QTVLWS) which will be linked to the internal issue so you can be notified when a a release containing the fix is available.
Thanks for reporting this issue.
Can I please be notified when this fix is available? I think I am still seeing this under 2011.1
Hello Greg,
The issue has been fixed for some time now and can be downloaded with the latest Service Release. Excuse for not notifying you sooner, I hadn't seen your post.
Petar, Thanks!
Very brief testing indicates the latest SR may have fixed this for us.
Hi Greg,
I am really glad to hear that.
I am going to follow this thread for a few more days just in case anything comes up.
