ReportPlus Desktop: What's new in version 1.2.212

Lucia Rodriguez / Tuesday, October 17, 2017

We’re excited to announce the 1.2.212 release of ReportPlus Desktop. Our goal with this release is to continue to bring true self-service BI to your business, while making it easier for you to create and share dashboards across all platforms.

General ReportPlus

We’re pleased to announce several new features, including column sorting in raw data, Heat Map pin clustering, start positions for pie and doughnut charts, the ability to annotate dashboards when exporting, and other enhancements!

Annotating images during Export

A long-standing feature in ReportPlus iOS, you can now annotate images while you are exporting them in ReportPlus Desktop, Android and Server. With the annotation feature, you can highlight specific areas in your dashboards, or add any notes and shapes you need during the export process.

Annotating Images

Shapes available in the toolbar include squares, circles, lines, arrows and free drawing options. Depending on the shape you select, you can change background or stroke colors, opacity and width.

Annotated Dashboard

If you choose to add text annotations, you can also adjust the size of your text box, its opacity, or the font’s weight and size.

Export your dashboard to a Word document

The newest release allows users to export their dashboards in a Microsoft Word format. Users can then edit the document, which has a similar structure to the already existing PDF export.

Exporting a Grid as an Image

When exporting, you might want to transform a grid into a static image, or export the full information contained in it. To access this option, simply drag the “Export Grid as image” slider in the Export window.

Column Sorting

The previous ReportPlus release allowed you to sort columns in view mode, introducing the ability to filter data dynamically. However, this functionality was restricted to the grid visualization. With our latest release you can apply sorting when looking at the data behind any of our visualizations.

Grouping information in your Heat Maps

Working with large data sources can be cumbersome, and it can be difficult to decide on a visualization which shows you as much information as you want. With ReportPlus, you will now be able to view circle markers grouping your data when working with more than 1,000 map pins.

Start Position for Pie and Doughnut Charts

Pie and Doughnut charts are often avoided because of the difficulty of reading slices that are not aligned or have poor comparing angles. ReportPlus makes this easier for you by allowing users to configure a starting position for your visualization at any of the four cardinal directions.

Documentation Improvements

We are also happy to announce that we have introduced a few new sections in our documentation to accompany the latest ReportPlus build:

  • A list of supported devices and operating systems has been added.
  • The feature matrix for all ReportPlus platforms has also been added for users to have a better understanding of what features are included in each application.
