Custom Editor Provider Validation

Hi, 

I have implemented custom editor provider by keeping input type text and then attached jqueryui.datepicker to that input type. 

But the problem I facing now is I have to click two times on that particular column to open calender and it's not closing when date is selected. 

Other issue is how to show validation message in case of custom editor provider.
